Rick Cicci | Director of Golf Wigwam Golf | 451 N. Old Litchfield Rd, Litchfield Park, AZ | 85340 Phone 623.535.4910 | [email protected] Dear WCC Members,
Our Board of Directors (BOD) election process is well underway. This year two seats are up for election as directors Matt Haid and Nancy Todd’s terms are coming to an end. WCC directors are elected to three-year terms. Election is open to any Member in good standing; however, only one person from a membership may serve on the Board at a time. Joining the board is a unique opportunity to serve the membership of the Wigwam Country Club (WCC). As a Director you will have the opportunity to develop and execute ideas that will continue to enhance the experience of our members, adding value to our membership. There will be opportunities to aid in planning social events, golf tournaments, tennis events, and much more. The BOD is looking for individuals who are interested in furthering our community and bringing new ideas to the table. The WCC has several committees dedicated to ensuring the club functions run smoothly for our members. Election to the BOD is purely voluntary, and Directors are expected to serve on one of our seven committees: Social, Golf Tournament, WWGA, Tennis, Grounds and Greens, Handicap, and Nominating. The Chairs and their committees are responsible for scheduling event dates, times, venues; building formats; food and beverage plans; and managing their BOD allocated budgets. Committee Chairs are required to submit a report at each monthly Board meeting. Board meetings usually take place from October to May. How to apply:
I would like to personally encourage any of you to apply for these open positions and help make your ideas a reality. Matt Haid, V.P. and Nominating Chairman Kevin McElvain volunteers to recruit and coordinate all volunteers for this amazing event every year. Volunteer signups have been very slow thus far. PLEASE consider helping Kevin out. You will love watching these youngsters compete! This message is going to all WCC golf members.
If you aren't familiar with U.S. Kids, or even if you are... this documentary is well worth the time to watch. The Short Game. The US Kids Desert Shootout tournament will be here in less than three weeks (Feb 23 - 25) and there are still about 20 volunteer shifts that have not been filled. We need shuttle drivers all three mornings (golf cart transportation from the driving range to #10 Blue and Gold), player registration helpers Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, and pace-of-play monitors Saturday and Sunday. For those of you who have not seen this event, the participants are boys and girls from under 6 to 18 years old and they have to qualify through local events to get into this regional. They compete in age groups and It's quite a sight to see the quality of play these youngsters show. Please contact Kevin McElvain at [email protected] if you can spare a few hours to help out. Thanks, Kevin Dear Country Club Members,
The Tower Pool Waterslide project is coming along & we are so excited to reveal the new slide experience to you! Due to the recent unexpected weather conditions, there has been a short delay in the renovation of the slides. The waterslides will continue to be closed until March 1, 2024. Additionally, we may have to temporarily close the Tower Pool during this time. While we don’t expect the Tower Pool to be closed for long periods of time, it will be closed intermittently over the next few weeks. While the slide and Tower Pool are temporarily closed, we encourage you to join us at the Oasis Pool. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely apologize. We can assure you that the wait will be well worth it! We can’t wait to spend the spring and summer with you, enjoying the brand new slide experience!
